Making Snow in Berkeley

December 03, 2018

Waiting for the snowParents in North Berkeley help their children wait for the snow makers to finish. I like to mix it up a little and get out of the studio to photograph what's happening in the San Francisco Bay Area, and, believe me, there's no shortage of things happening around here! Last Saturday, I volunteered at Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco for the Hope Portrait project, and although I can't share any photos of the event (the images are just for the clients), you can see what Help Portrait is here. I loved the day of portrait shooting, learning from other photographers, and meeting so many cool people.

Then, on Sunday, I checked out a snow day in Berkeley. (It doesn't typically snow in Berkeley, so I wanted to see how this event played out.) The kids were held back by their parents until the snow makers had finished, and then everyone got to walk onto the snow--some for the first time! Here are a few pix from Snow Day.
