Audubon Eco-Education field trip to MLK Regional Shoreline

November 08, 2019

The Golden Gate Audubon Society brings kids to nature and gives them an experience they will remember for a long time. On a recent trip to the MLK Regional Shoreline (part of the EBRPD) I photographed a class of third graders from Oakland eagerly studying bird identification cards, picking up trash along the shore, and planting natives in a field. The teams of kids lovingly named their plants, and one girl promised to come back to see her tree in ten years, "when I'm nineteen." I love my pro bono work, and this photo shoot gave me so much hope to see the next generation learning ways to keep our planet healthy.
