Member of the Press

February 08, 2019

I had a great time photographing for Berkeleyside.com at my first POTUS campaign launch in Oakland, California on January 27, 2019. The crowd filled the Frank Ogawa Plaza downtown and several streets were cordoned off and packed with people, reminding me of Times Square on New Year's Eve. Huge Jumbotrons televised the speakers and performers so people who did not get a spot inside the park could see the event. With my press pass around my neck, I was able to snag a spot right behind the VIP section where the press was corralled: national broadcast television and reporters from national media typed and clicked during the event.

So many young people came out to watch Senator Kamala Harris announce her candidacy for president.

The crowd was estimated at around twenty thousand. Frank Ogawa Plaza was packed and the crowd filled many city streets in downtown Oakland.
